Drafted by Grok 4.7 on 8 October 2026. First draft. Not independently reviewed. Leningrad Codex, through the Open Scriptures Westminster Leningrad Codex. The written consonants are printed. The Samaritan Pentateuch and the Greek, Syriac, and Latin versions are witnesses, not the default.
God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God made a wind pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
The springs of the deep and the windows of the sky were shut, and the rain from the sky was held back.
The waters went on receding from the earth. The waters lessened at the end of one hundred and fifty days.
The ark came to rest in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.
The waters went on lessening until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.
At the end of forty days, Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made,
and he sent out the raven. It went out, going and returning, until the waters dried up from the earth.
He sent out the dove from him, to see whether the waters had lessened from the face of the ground.
The dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. He reached out his hand and took her and brought her in to him into the ark.
He waited another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark.
The dove came to him at evening, and look, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth. Noah knew that the waters had lessened from the earth.
He waited another seven days and sent the dove out, and she did not return to him again.
In the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the waters dried from the earth. Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and look, the face of the ground was dry.
In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried out.
God spoke to Noah, saying,
“Go out from the ark, you, and your wife, and your sons, and your sons’ wives with you.
Every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, birds, livestock, and every crawling thing that crawls on the earth, bring them out with you, and let them swarm on the earth, and bear fruit, and become many on the earth.”

- Text
Leningrad writes hotse, “bring out.” The Masoretic reading is haytse, a different spelling of the same command. The written spelling is followed. The English is the same either way.
Noah went out, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him.
Every living thing, every crawling thing, every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out from the ark by their families.
Noah built an altar to Yahweh, and he took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered up burnt offerings on the altar.
Yahweh smelled the soothing smell, and Yahweh said to his heart, “I will not again curse the ground because of the human, for the shaping of the human heart is evil from his youth. I will not again strike every living thing as I have done.
For all the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will not cease.”
